Art Ambassador Board members, Kevin and Wanda Macpherson, Jack Vogler, Ruth Heffron and Joel Heger traveled to San Martín Chiquito in the Guatemalan highlands with Xela Aid again in 2015. While there, they taught art classes to the children and helped with local building projects.
Also during this trip, our scholarship recipients, Walter and Lorenzo, worked with us on the painting of a mural measuring eight feet tall by sixty-four feet long depicting the evolution of the mysterious Popol Vuh (Having to do with Mayan beliefs about the dawn of life and the glory of Gods and king). The mural can be seen in Xela AID’s new June Russel-Glennon Clinic.
Here are some photos from the trip.
